Natural, beautiful Baltic Sea Amber
Legend says Amber is tears of the Goddess Freya and the sun that fell into the sea. Millions of years old, this gemstone is a fossil from the resin of ancient 'Spruce' pine trees of Prussia (from which the Prussians got their name). Ancient Germanic tribes such as the Goths, other Nordic peoples, Celts, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Chinese and other peoples valued amber for it's beauty, protection and healing properties. Amber was also called Electra, Bernstein or Northern Gold due to its electrical properties and golden color.

We've just returned from the Baltic Sea coast and have a fabulous collection of new Baltic Amber in golden honey gold, enhanced blue and red amber. These designs are hand crafted by artisans in the beautiful old Hanseatic League city of Danzig/Gdansk and the Koenigsberg/Kaliningrad area of former Prussia, now Russia. The Baltic Sea area around Gdansk, Poland, Danzig, Prussia, Germany pre '45, contains the world's most plentiful and beautiful ancient fossilized amber. These beautiful, highly polished pieces are even more striking to look at in person! Many have delightful golden flecks and inclusions which really sparkle in the sun.
