Crate training works!
Can you guess how many "accidents" my puppies had in the house before I used a crate? If you've raised your own pup without one, you'll guess it was so many times that I lost track. And, oh, mornings.....!@!%&. Now with one adult dog who has the roam of the house and two puppies being crate trained nights, guess how many accidents they've had? Only one, and that was when the littlest was just here a day or two. And, honestly mornings are a joy, because everybody's happy and ready to go outside.

Puppies have a natural instinct to keep their "den" clean. The crate serves as a den which the pup while try to avoid to mess. Just remember young pups have small bladders and can't be crated too long. The general guideline is one hour for each month of their age, plus an hour.
