healthy
planet news solar powered goods keep you
cool as the weather heats up! Also in this issue -- You've heard the enchanting
story of the Little Mermaid; Now read the amazing story of a 'merman' and
his pal Jojo...
Keeping
Cool with the Sun
Can you actually beat the
heat with the sun? You sure can! Use the sun's energy and our super new
photo voltaic powered goods to keep you cool as a cucumber while your sweltering
friends are green with envy. Or be a pal and get them a solar
powered car ventilator fan and solar
cool cap too! You better act fast though because these cool solar items
are selling like hotcakes and supply is limited.
Note: Our solar products
in CrystalBay
Solar Works really do work. Don't confuse them with weaker cells of
a decade ago. Our advanced Crystalline and Amorphous Silicon Solar Panels
are powerful, durable, and weatherproof. We displayed some solar panels
and gadgets at an outdoor show early May. Even though rain clouds were
overhead, they kept working through the clouds! As more people support
renewable energy like solar, cost is coming down too. No longer just the
stuff of NASA spaceships, solar energy is available and affordable for
everyone.
Here's another way to beat
the heat: Go whitewater rafting! EarthTrek
Expeditions fun, experienced guides from California and New Zealand
will show you a good, clean, cool time on the river.

Being a Part of History
in the Making in the High Desert
If you just can't sit in
a cubical another moment and want to do something truly meaningful. Take
a sabbatical and head on over to the high desert to be a witness for the
elderly Dineh who are resisting forced relocation. Why do we keep harping
on the Dineh in our Zine? When you cut through all the coercion, intrigue,
and political maneuvering, it's about energy -- old energy, coal corporate
interests vs. new renewable energy and putting people and the planet first.
The Dineh
are being forced off their lands in Arizona for coal at the cost of millions
to tax payers when this money should be going into clean, renewable energy.
But don't take my word for it, judge for yourself... Seriously interested
in being a witness? Contact Marsha at sdnmarsha@aol.com

Mermaids
& Mermen
Love the feeling of swimming
and diving in
the ocean? Diving underwater with the cool blue all around is a feeling
of otherworldliness, weightlessness and wonder. What a wonderful rush when
the sea's creatures -- sea lions and dolphins come to play, swimming curiously
close, look you in the eye and swim off in playful, elegant loops.
We could call Dean Bernal
a real life merman. Dean feels at home in the waters of Turks and Caicos
swimming with his best friend Jojo. What's so special about this? Well,
Jojo is an orphaned wild dolphin who befriended Dean and has become a national
treasure. Jojo has even saved Dean's life! If you're a diver who's come
face to face with a friendly wild animal, or have developed a special bond
with a domesticated animal, you can understand why Dean is fighting so
hard to protect Jojo from the danger that other humans pose to him... (continued

Jojo Injured Again
(continued from above)
We wrote about Jojo above
and in the March issue of
CrystalBay's Zine. Jojo has been seriously injured by careless humans.
Gwen McKenna says Jojo has been injured again. Gwen, a dynamic Canadian
volunteer, reports: "Club Med's ongoing denial of the jeopardy it places
JOJO in needs to be resolved before JOJO's death. We need Club Med to hear
our collective voices. Let Club Med know that we will continue our
worldwide boycott of all Club Med vacations until they stop their water-skiing
program immediately in the Turks & Caicos and that you will notify
friends, family and co-workers to do the same. Send your letters to the
CEO and Chairman of Club Med to Philippe.Bourguignon@ClubMed.com
and to the Governor at governor@tciway.tc
Thank you for your help and please cc: all copies of your letters to me
at gmckenna@interhop.net "
Find out more about Jojo online at www.jojo.tc
Note: The film "Dolphins"
is playing at IMAX panorama theaters. The Imax experience is extraordinary.
You will hold on to the edge of your seat as you feel like you are in the
movie. You can see Jojo in "Dolphins" featuring spectacular marine footage,
narration by Pierce Brosnan and music by Sting.
